Have you ever wanted to know what its like to be a bird? What do they see when they fly overhead? I have to tell you, the Hubsan X4 gives you a view of the world that very few people see. It's just not the same as flying in an aeroplane because like a bird, you're in control. You can swoop, you can soar and see everything that a bird would as if you were one, thanks to the integrated video camera on board the H107C!

Hubsan X4 H107C Review

From your first takeoff, the Hubsan H107C is extremely responsive, yet still easy to fly thanks to it's 6-axis gyro control. It's tons of fun to fly as it also has four "flip" modes, allowing you to easily make the drone do stunts, and you're able to fly with the camera off for longer run times. Normally, you'll get 5-6 minutes per battery charge with the camera running, but turned off, you'll see 7-8 minute run times. Still, it's a good idea to pick up a 5-pack of rechargable batteries and an extra charger.

You also might want to pick up a crash pack just in case you do have "technical difficulties" or crash the drone. Overall, the Hubsan X4 H107C is a joy to fly and easy to learn, and for that reason, it's one of the top beginner drones we reviewed. The H107C has stronger motors than it's predecessor, and also a slightly higher payload capacity so attaching a paperclip and sending love notes isn't out of the question!

The H107C comes Ready To Fly (RTF) and packed securely in its box. You won't have to do any assembly except for attaching the rotor blades to each of the four corners (that's why they call it a "quadcopter" or "multirotor"), which is very easy. Your battery charges in about 60 minutes, so again, for 5-7 minutes of flight time, you'll definately want to get an extra set of batteries.

The Hubsan X4 H107C would be considered a medium sized beginner drone because it's not as big as the UDI U818A Quadcopter, but not as small as the Syma X1 either. The Hubsan H107C is heavier than it's non-camera sister model, the H107L due to the added weight of the onboard camera obviously, but with stronger rotor motors, it more than makes up for the weight difference in it's air moving power.

The body is made from plastic and there's two blue LEDs mounted to the front topside of the drone for flying in dim lighting conditions. These LEDs aren't headlights, but there so you can see and track the drone, which is dark in color to begin with. When flying indoors, it's highly recommended to use the included propeller monitors (guards) to protect your rotors from damage.

What Is A Drone, And Can I Fly One?

A Drone, in terms of this site and our hobby, is a private hobby-class radio controlled unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that has a range of less than a mile and are not to be flown higher than 400 feet, further than a clear line of sight allows, and absolutely not for devious purposes (spying, eavesdropping, surveillance flights, etc...). We are hobbyists, not government nor criminals. The drones we recommend are to be flown for recreational purposes only, and we do not endorse the misuse of UAVs in any way.
